Kibbutz Mishmarot, located north of Pardes Chana, served in the years prior to the state's foundation, as a base for the combat companies and divisions of the Palmach. It was also a passageway for illegal immigrants. For a few years, a secret factory for weapons manufacture for the Hagana, existed in Mishmarot.
