Tel Amal (Nir David) was the first Jewish settlement to be erected in a bold and original method, named Stockade and Watchtower. The operation, at the beginning of the riots in December 10th 1936, took the Arabs in the country completely by surprise. It became a symbol of the security settlement and was followed by 50 additional settlements, founded in the same method.
