The museum, also named after the ship "af al pi chen" (nevertheless), commemorates the illegal immigration of Jews to the country during the British mandate, in the years 1934-1948. During this period more than 120 thousands illegal immigrants arrived to the country, most of them by sea. This was one of the most important enterprises in the annals of the people of Israel and Zionism.
