On the night of the 20-21st on July 1947, forces from the Palmach's first battalion executed two raids on the British radar facilities in the Carmel and sabotaged the facilities, as a retaliation for capturing the ship Exodus and deporting it, still carrying immigrants, to the harbor it departed from in France and then to Germany.
